Woodend Winter Arts Festival

A yearly pilgrimage, this festival of music and ideas is a Victorian institution, lovingly directed by Jacqueline Ogeil and John O'Donnell. Program will be announced soon!

Experiencing Schubert's momentous work on gut strings will introduce audiences to the vivid colours and expressive sensitivities that Schubert intended, bringing it to new life. With brilliant colleagues Anna McMichael and Jennifer Kirsner (violins) and Meg Cohen (viola).
Wyselaskie Yuma Auditorium, 29 College Crescent, Parkville
Reuniting with intrepid colleagues violinist Racheal Beesley and percussionist Rob Cossom, Ensemble Old and New invites audiences into a reflective sound world, with a diverse mix of repertoire from Bach to Ross Edwards, Cossom, Henryson and Messiaen. Full program announced in due course.

A rare chance to hear music in this historic venue, the Como Ballroom plays host to a program showcasing composers Leonard Bernstein, Nino Rota, Andre Previn (with the stunning Four Songs based on poems by Nobel laureate Toni Morrison), Erich Korngold and Australian composer, Luke Severn. A captivating program of chamber music by Ukrainian composers, I'll be joining musical friends violinist Markiyan Melnychenko and pianist Stewart Kelly for the lush, early 20th century trio by Vasyl Barvinsky, full of evocative Ukrainian folk melodies and dances. Ripe with alliterative possibility, playing Beethoven in Brunswick with Berta Brozgul will be a real highlight of the Summer. Pairing Beethoven's final D major Sonata with the monumental Rachmaninov Cello Sonata. $35/$20/$25
An exciting new venture in Adelaide, I'll join Director Edith Salzmann and Tom Marlin with students of the Adelaide and Melbourne Universities in a concert to include; Tangos, Bossa Nova and Bohemian Rhapsody to original works. Cello sound bath! Tickets $35/$25
