Telemann in Paris

Luxuriate in the chamber music of Paris in the 1730s when Telemann visited and played with flautist Michel Blavet, violinist Jean-Pierre
Guignon, gambist Jean-Baptiste Forqueray and a mystery cellist known as Prince Édouard. Australian traverso treasure Greg Dikmans leads alongside Shane Lestideau, (violin), Laura Vaughan (gamba) and Samantha Cohen (theorbo). Tickets $50/40/35/20
An eclectic program showcasing music from different angles - from Schumann's take on Bach, Schubert played on an unintended instrument, to violin music transcribed for the cello. Firebird Trio takes inspiration from the re-composition of musical ideas and fragments of the past for more ‘modern’ times. Trios of Charles Ives and Maurice Ravel brim with fragments of the past. Frederic Chopin's Sonata for Cello and Piano was the last to be published in his lifetime. A work of magnificent scale and expression, it will be presented alongside works by Schumann and Franchomme. Full program to be announced soon! Tickets $25/20

Imaginista Quartet with oboist Emma Black

Premiere performance of the Imaginista Quartet alongside internationally renowned oboist, Emma Black. With Zoe Black and Liisa Pallandi (violins), Caroline Henbest (viola) playing on historical instruments in string quartets by Haydn, and virtuosic oboe quintets by Boccherini and Myslivecek. Firebird Trio at the Brunswick Beethoven Festival

In our first performance for 2025, Firebird Trio presents the iconic Ravel Piano Trio alongside some of Benjamin Britten's Sea Interludes arranged by our pianist Benjamin Martin. Baroque violinist Davide Monti defies all the preconceptions of what an early music specialist is. An absolute virtuoso on the violin, Davide improvises like a musician possessed. Joining us are Jacqueline Ogeil on the earliest piano, a Cristofori, in a wonderfully Italian program of Scarlatti, Corelli, Tartini and of course Vivaldi.
