Firebird Trio at the Brunswick Beethoven Festival

Brunswick Uniting Church, 212 Sydney Road, Brunswick
In our first performance for 2025, Firebird Trio presents the iconic Ravel Piano Trio alongside some of Benjamin Britten's Sea Interludes arranged by our pianist Benjamin Martin. A quirky neoclassical work by Alfredo Casella and a surprise Beethoven offering complete the program. Tickets $35/25/20 with Full and Half Season passes available.

Imaginista Quartet with oboist Emma Black

Tempo Rubato, 34 Breese Street, Brunswick
Premiere performance of the Imaginista Quartet alongside internationally renowned oboist, Emma Black. With Zoe Black and Liisa Pallandi (violins), Caroline Henbest (viola) playing on historical instruments in string quartets by Haydn, and virtuosic oboe quintets by Boccherini and Myslivecek. Firebird Trio at the Geelong Chamber Music Society

Chopin and Schumann with John O'Donnell

A beautiful program of string quartet and clarinet quintet music including Schubert's glorious Rosamunde Quartet and Quartetsatz, alongside the stunning Reicha Clarinet Quintet. A rare chance to hear this music performed on the instruments for which they were intended. Tickets $35/25

A true season highlight to partner with these astounding musicians, Laura Vaughan (baryton) and Tim WIllis (viola) in a program of pure Haydn. This performance features Prince Esterhazy's favourite instrument, the baryton (think like a viola da gamba with a rich resonant sound cloud)

Run, don't walk to hear this year's MICMC held over 7 days in July. It was a real honour to be part of the audition panel with Wilma Smith and Caroline Almonte for this talented group of 14 ensembles competing for the Grand Prize, and a lot more besides.

'The Sweet Sacred' for Sunday Mattutino Series

The inaugural offering for this new series at my favourite venue, featuring the music of Bach, Lee Bradshaw, Caerwen Martin and Sofia Gubaidulina. Joining me for some sacred Bach chorales will be Marcus Ho, Henry Say, Jeannie Kim and AJ Singh. A special shout out to Mark Millward who is supporting this series with a complimentary glass of sherry and other tasty treats at the end of the recital.
